Reception Rosen were working hard this week on furthering their knowledge of length. We were developing the use of our mathematical vocabulary looking at short, longer and longest. The children also suggested we could use ‘medium’ to describe items that are of ‘in-between’ length.
After exploring different items using non-standard measures, the children were set a challenge to create me three towers that fit the description of short, longer and longest. If they achieved this, they had to create a fourth tower that matched Mrs Burgess’ description.
I have never witnessed the children concentrating so hard before, their focus was excellent. I do have a video of this which I will upload when we return to school, I forgot to upload it before I left on Friday!
